Not a lot of progress

So I’ve been trying to challenge myself a little more with these goals. I have a few people I already know, but the whole point of these goals is to meet NEW people. I’ve been trying to avoid inviting the same people out over and over again. I consider that cheating and the only person I’d be letting down is myself.

So while this weekend was productive for the condo, it wasn’t very productive for my social life. However, I’ve signed up to go to a few events later this week. Margaritas and Trivia night…SO GOING TO BE THERE. This week will be difficult and I’ll be going out of my comfort zone, but please keep me in your thoughts in hopes that I can conquer these social events.

  • Go out 5 times to different places (1/5 done and 2 events planned this week)
  • Go bowling (No progress)
  • Host dinner here for a friend (No progress)
  • Invite friends to go out 5 times (1/5 done)
  • Go on 1 date (No progress)
  • Attend 1 fashion related event

Swivel Pose

Whoo! It’s been busy, but it’s been fun. I’m enjoy the pressure that I’ve been putting on myself to be more social. I had attended the Fashion Show for Julia Sera Boutique. It was a lot of fun and I met some nice people. I will definitely be attending more in the future. Let me also drop the hint that I’m in one of the promotional photos now. Have fun finding it guys (Only Hint: 3 blond bombshells)! Go take a look at their Facebook page for it!

So just to update you (and a reminder for myself) on my goals and adding another:

  • Go out 5 times to different places (1/5 done)
  • Go bowling (No progress)
  • Host dinner here for a friend (No progress)
  • Invite friends to go out 5 times (1/5 done)
  • Go on 1 date (No progress)
  • Attend 1 fashion related event

Hope you all are having fun reading! Have a great day!

Fashion Mixer- Art Event

Another goal out of my way last night. I went to a fashion show lasts night. Well…it was supposed to be a fashion show. The models were mingling with the guests, but it worked so well. The dresses were beautiful. Some of them were a lot shorter than I would ever wear, but some of the fabric choices were stunning.

I also won a Sangria party for 20 with a live video blog. How terrifying is that? I don’t even know 20 people out here yet.  I’m pretty sure it’s a sales pitch for something, but I’m down for it anyways. My brother’s girlfriend won a makeover last night (last person who needs one), so we walked away pretty excited.

The event inspired me to get a few more goals done for my life.

  • Graduate from Fashion Design School
  • Wear something I’ve made out in public
  • Host the Sangria party- whoo!
  • Go to another mixer like this.

Hope you all had a great night last night! Let’s conquer today!

Smile So They Can See

Being shy sucks.

I know in my head that there is no reason for it, but somehow I freeze every time I get into a social situation. If under the rare occasion I don’t freeze I end up stuttering. It’s painful and while I love to go out and do new things, I avoid it like the plague because I’m so damn awkward at times.

Now that I’m in a new city…I have almost zero friends. Even these friends don’t quite understand just how nerve wrecking these social situations can be. I am totally fine face to face with someone I’ve met a few times. However, I need to be more social. Practice makes perfect and I want to meet some quality friends out here. I want to LIVE.

  • Go out 5 times to different places
  • Go bowling
  • Host dinner here for a friend
  • Invite friends to go out 5 times
  • Be invited out by friends 5 times
  • Go on 1 casual date

Start things slow and make future goals as I meet old ones. Shy will no longer be one of my traits if I have anything to say about it.
