Reorganized closet and Found place to hang basket

Today has been insane. I’m in cleaning mode and have torn through my closet. I had two recliner chairs that were stuffed in there. I managed to remove them and bring them down two flights of stairs and across a parking lot to a dumpster.

Look where I placed that fruit basket.

Clever lady, aren't I?

Clever lady, aren’t I?

The problem is that I’ve found so many things that I want to get rid of. It’s either that I don’t like them any more or they are too big for me now. So I’m thinking of starting to list some of my clothing on Ebay for really cheap so they can go to better homes.

  • List 3 items on Ebay
  • Organize my shoes
  • Get a storage container for closet

Hope you all had a great day!

Starting to Resemble Home

This weekend has been excellent for getting my condo put together.

I’ve been nurturing my new houseplant like a newborn child and enjoying my nicely organized kitchen.

Even my shopping trip proved fruitful. I strongly dislike grocery shopping, but this weekend’s trip was hysterical with my coupons. I do feel like an idiot for not having done it before. With just ONE trip I saved forty dollars. What can I do with forty dollars? Fill my gas tank…decorate…save it away. How about you? I strongly suggest taking the time and doing the coupon and grocery store research gig.

I do need some pictures on my wall guys! I’m thinking of doing an old Hollwood theme in my room. Then there is the idea of having a tropical resort theme (no inflatable palm trees…I promise). We’ll see how it goes. Once I find a painting, piece of art or furniture that screams to me then I can design around it.

Goal review:

  • Save 100 dollars with coupons (41/100 dollars saved)
  • Get a houseplant (Done)
  • Hang 3 pictures up in my room (No progress)
  • Get steering fixed (ASAP)
  • Get my car detailed (No progress)
  • Reorganize the pantry (Done)
  • Get a patio decoration

Get it Together!

This week has been nuts with the job search, but I’ve also been cleaning up around the condo. This place is starting to look clean, but it’s not feeling like a home yet. My brother dropped the bomb that he is definitely buying his own house at the end of the summer. Which means that this condo will be mine entirely. So it’s time to really turn this place into my safe haven.

I did manage to clip those coupons. Be sure to check out that earlier post! It’s worth clipping those bad boys. I know it doesn’t seem like 30 cents off here and there doesn’t help your wallet, but it really does. My brother asked if I’m going to embarrassed when I go and use them. Heck no. I’m a smart and resourceful woman who likes rolling around in her own cash. You want to blow yours? Go for it. Meanwhile, I’ll go fill my bathtub up with Benjamin.

The houseplant escapades are still on. I went to Lowe’s again to see if they still had the nice plants, but their selection this time was terrible. I’m going to try jumping around to some of the smaller named places around Vegas to see if they have anything nicer.

My car and I are having issues. The steering hasn’t been fixed, but the other day she was making a fun rattling sound. I brought the car to Firestone and they said that my repairs were about 400 dollars. If not fixed the car would soon be unsafe. So I had no choice but to fix it. Runs alright now.

Reviewing my goals and adding a few new ones:

  • Clip Coupons (DONE)
  • Save 100 dollars with coupons (Grocery Shopping this weekend!)
  • Get a houseplant (I’ve chosen one, just need to find it now)
  • Hang 3 pictures up in my room (No progress)
  • Get steering fixed (ASAP)
  • Get my car detailed (No progress)
  • Reorganize the pantry

Have any tips on organizing spices or pantry closets? I’m in need of some advice!

Someone is Noticing

I’ve been doing extremely well with my healthier choices (if you subtract the one burger after the social mixer). I’ve been keeping up with my 30 day ab challenge (DAY 7!) and have been cooking some healthy meals.

This morning my brother jabbed me in the side and told me that I’m slimming down on my sides. So being the ridiculous individual that I am, I ran to the mirror and turned this way and that. I’m definitely starting to notice very very tiny differences. The best difference is how I’m feeling. I wake up early, go to bed early and feel so energized and healthy. Definitely worth skipping out on unhealthy choices when the rewards are so exhilarating.

I used to be the poster child for avoiding healthy stuff like, but now I’m slowly getting addicted to feeling great. Just to review my goals though:

  • Hike a trail at Red Rock Canyon (planning)
  • Complete the 30 day ab workout (Day 7/30)
  • Get a yoga DVD
  • Get a cookbook with healthy recipes (Still researching)
  • Find and try a delicious and healthy smoothie recipe (Got to unpack my blender first)
  • Run that 5k (Found one in Los Angeles that I’m running later this year)
  • Get out of my Size 12 funk and slide into Size 10 consistently

Stay healthy guys!

Real Life Can Be Yuck- Car and Home

So after having moved straight across the country to start my life, I have an issue.

Actually I have a whole laundry list of issues. Most concerning would be my mode of transportation.

My beautiful little Mazda Protege of the beautiful year 2003. You’ve seen everything from hail storms to curbs to Colorado Rockies to snow banks. The places we have been -oh- the memories. Whoever told me that driving is EXACTLY like bumper cars needs to replace a few parts on my vehicle.

So I need to give my little car some TLC.

Also needing some TLC is this condo. I have moved into the Bachelor pads of Bachelor pads with my brother. Where are the decorations? Where is the dish soap and why is there a piece of work out equipment dangling in my new bedroom doorway?

To be honest though, it’s not too bad, but it’s clearly lacked any lady touches. If this is home from now on and my brother is giving me the O.K. then it’s time to bust out my glue gun and fix this place up into a livable place.

  • Clip some coupons to start saving money
  • Save 100 dollars by using grocery coupons
  • Get a house plant
  • Hang 3 pictures or paintings up in my room
  • Fix the steering on my car
  • Get my car detailed

Obviously some of those goals are a bit more important than others. Car takes priority right now until I have a job.
